About Erin
Erin Strader is a 4* Event rider originally from Michigan and now splitting her time between Lexington, KY and Ocala, FL. As a young rider she competed in the North American Junior/Young Rider Championships aboard a wonderful horse named Radio Flyer. They finished 4th individually and their team achieved the silver medal. Throughout college and her early 20s she spent time working under top professionals such as: Dorothy Crowell, Meghan O’Donoghue, Will Coleman, Matt and Hannah Hollberg and Phillip Dutton. She has been able to train with some of the best in the country including the above and: Liz Halliday, Peter Wylde, Ian Woodhead, Erik Duvander, Linda Zang, Reese Koffler-Stanfield and many more.
She gained a huge love and appreciation for the off-track Thoroughbreds and worked as the head trainer and barn manager at the Secretariat Center for two years. Shortly after, she began galloping racehorses and learning about their experiences at the track. She spent five years galloping and eventually decided she wanted to focus on eventing full time. She made her return to Kentucky in 2022 and began to build her business there. The thoroughbreds have been and continue to be a huge part of her business and she has worked to match them to their second careers and to their new families.
Erin and her most prolific mount, Live and Learn (Livey) reached the top levels of the sport together. Erin achieved her USDF Bronze Medal aboard Livey in 2022 and together they won the Advanced at the Ocala Festival of Eventing in 2024. They also competed through the 1.30 jumpers together.
Erin has produced multiple horses to the preliminary level and higher and specializes in young horses. She seeks to create a solid base for which people can expand on. Her degree in Education lends to her ability to create clear and specific goals for horses and riders and give them the building blocks to achieve them.
